 What a Beautiful World

This is our overarching topic across the school this term. Look out for our curriculum letter explaining what we will be covering in more detail. A copy is also on the website. Click on the letters link above.

This Term's Activities:

As part of our humanities studies of our immediate locality and linked to our literacy sequence of Katie Morag Delivers the Mail, this Friday 19th January we will be walking around the village. We will be visiting the shop to buy stamps and posting letters to ourselves. If you are available to come with us please come and see us early in the week. Thank you.

On Tuesday 30th January am and Tuesday 6th March am we will be cooking traditional recipes from around the Uk with the children. If you wish to help on these days please come and see us.

On Tuesday 30th January at 2pm Dr. Hilary Ackland will be coming to talk with us and answer the children's questions about Scotland.

On Tuesday 6th February from 1.45pm to 3.00pm we are inviting grandparents in to talk to the children about life when they were small. This is linked to our literacy sequence of Katie Morag and the two Grandmother's and to our history; life within living memory. If you are available to come and spend the afternoon with us please drop in and let us know. A letter from the children will arrive in the post shortly.

On Wednesday 21st February and each Wednesday from then until until Easter, in the afternoons, we will be visiting our outdoor classroom at the allotments. We will need parent helpers to walk up with us on a regular basis. Please come and see us if you wish to volunteer.

At the end of term on 27th March at 2pm we will be presenting The Red Class Grande Finale. This is a short presentation of songs from around the UK and work that the children have completed. Please get it in your diaries now!

Red Class have two visits plans for this term; Paignton Zoo on Monday 26th February and a local National Trust Property (TBC)
