Drake’s PTFA are seeking a new Chair and Treasurer.
As of September myself and Leanne are stepping down from the PTFA.
We are seeking new people to take on these roles.
Without these roles the PTFA cannot continue to run. This would really affect our children’s curriculum enrichment.
The PTFA have so far this year put a further £1100 towards the ICT project. We covered the full cost of the whole School Paignton Zoo trip. We bought the Yr6 leavers hoodies. We raised £2000 at May Fair which the teachers will be using to enrich the children’s curriculum. We subsidise the upper Years Brass lessons.
We are hoping to raise approximately another £1000 before this academic year ends in July with our upcoming events.
By we, I mean the PTFA who organise the events, the many volunteers who help and all those who come along , spend their money and support our events
As a small village school it is essential we raise these extra funds for our wonderful school.
We organise the big Fund raisers throughout the year including May Fair and the Christmas Craft Fair and we also hope the Pamper Evening could become a yearly event due to its huge success this year.
The PTFA also are responsible for the little events that don’t make huge amounts of money but enable parents, teachers and the community to be involved within the school.
Such as Refreshments at the summer and Christmas performances,
French Breakfast, cake sales, Christmas Bazaar and Christmas Cards and the Budleigh Carnival.
These roles are fairly demanding but extremely rewarding. You can meet new people and make new friends within our lovely community. Whilst making such a difference to our lovely school.
New ideas and events are always welcomed and as they say ,many hands make light work. So the more people who can volunteer a bit of their time the more enjoyable the experience is.
I cannot express how important it is that we fill these roles, so please do come and speak to either myself or Leanne if you feel you would consider taking on these positions.

A very big thank you to everyone involved in the carnival on Saturday from the PTFA.
We had a wonderful evening with you all and the children’s faces going around the circuit made all our hard work worthwhile. The people in the crowd cheering on Drakes and clapping as we went by also made it, not forgetting we got First place.
A Special thank you to all the helpers putting our float together on Saturday especially Jonathon Ponting and Lawrence Booth for doing all the manual work, Exe windows for sponsoring our Banner, Tesco’s for the donation of fruit, Julie at Bay FM for making our balloon arches, Budleigh Lions Club for the use of the generator, Heather for making our wonderful animal plates, Lisa for the amazing fish, A&J Building Contractors for the use of their truck and John Gelder for being our driver, but mostly to everyone that attend and made it possible.
