Welcome to The Kingfishers page!
We've had a brilliant first week and a half and the children have taken to their new classroom, routines and responsibilities amazingly.
We have kicked off our topic of 'Who am I' with some PSHE work on aspirations for the year, starting our science topic on evolution and inheritance and some history topic work. In literacy, we are writing information texts about kingfishers and in maths we have started work on the first unit all about numbers.
Homework will be set on a Wednesday and due in by the following Monday. Spellings will be set on Fridays and need to be learnt for the following Friday.
Optional science homework was set this week - if you want to bring in some photos of you and your family for our display on inheritance that would be brilliant. Any photos that cannot be printed out can be emailed or bought in on a USB stick to be printed out. All photos will be returned later in the term .
This week, class 4 have worked incredibly hard and demonstrated such positive attitudes and resilience that we are so proud of them.
It hasn't been all tests and assessments though - we've done some topic work, an experiment in science, PE and RE. We've also managed to fit in a celebratory trip to the Mill for ice cream when the SATs were over!
Over the weekend, everyone needs to get lots of rest and make sure their bags are packed all ready for Dartmoor next week.
